Precious Memories in the thriving year of 2021

The river of time is rushing to the end of 2021, and we have reached this moment when memories and expectations are intertwined together.
The year 2021 is a milestone year in the history of the party and the country. This year, the "14th Five-Year Plan" has a grand start, and the Communist Party of China ushered in its centennial birthday. Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital has always resonated with the times, striding forward and forging ahead on the new road.
1. Celebration of CPC Centennial Birthday
This year the Chinese people celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. On July 1, Yu Hong, Vice President of SRRSH, and Yao Yufeng, Director of the Ophthalmology Center, were invited to Beijing to participate in a series of celebrations for the centenary. All SRRSH staff learned the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping. We felt the sense of the same destiny and glory with the motherland in various places.
2. Anti-epidemic Support for Other Regions
This year, SRRSH staff crossed thousands of rivers and mountains, rushing to help Shaanxi, Chongqing, Manchuria, and Hebei. We fought against the COVID-19 epidemic side by side in many places, including Zijingang and Huajiachi Campuses of Zhejiang University, Zhenhai in Ningbo City.
There were 213 SRRSH doctors going together to provide emergency support to Shangyu in Shaoxing, four times in winter nights.
The model of "Dual-Utilization of Epidemic and Clinical Wards" designed by SRRSH has been an important part of the "Sand Table Hall of China's Epidemic Emergency Grading Diagnosis and Treatment Model". It showcases China's anti-epidemic achievements to the world at the Beijing Headquarters Exhibition of China Smart Health Innovation Center.
3. Progress Made in the National Hospital Rankings
In 2021, the latest national tertiary public hospital performance assessment result was announced. SRRSH ranked No.11 in the national examination, rated as A++ for two consecutive years, and once again listed in the top 1% of the national tertiary public hospitals.
This year, in the latest Fudan Chinese Hospital Rankings, SRRSH has made great strides in the "first matrix" of national public hospitals, an improvement of 30 places compared to last year, becoming the hospital with the fastest improvement for two consecutive years!
In the specialty reputation rankings and specialty comprehensive rankings, the General Practice Department of SRRSH ranks No.2 in the country.
According to the latest China Hospital Technology Quantity (STEM), SRRSH ranked No. 62, up 14 places from last year.
4. Promote the Discipline and Research Development
The first national-level engineering research center in the field of minimally invasive technology in the country and the National Engineering Research Center for Minimally Invasive Device Innovation and Application have been located in SRRSH. We will jointly promote the rapid development of minimally invasive medicine in our country in conjunction with university research institutes and enterprises.
We have comprehensively promoted the construction of the National Regional Medical Center for Respiratory Diseases, and officially opened the Respiratory Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center.
The latest clinical invention of President Cai Xiujun’s team, "Intestinal Bypass with Stent Method", won the honor of "Top Ten Academic Progress of Zhejiang University in 2020".
Six disciplinary innovation achievements of SRRSH won the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Award, and the team of Professor Zhang Songying won the first prize of the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
5. Lead the Smart Healthcare Development
In January 2021, we launched blockchain medical applications, pioneering blockchain technology nationwide. SRRSH topped the list of "Top Ten Internet + Healthcare Service Innovative Hospitals" at the 13th Healthy China Forum.
In December 2021, we organized a special live broadcast, focusing on the frontiers of minimally invasive surgery to explain health knowledge to the people. The live broadcast of 7 multimedia platforms was carried out simultaneously, and it ranked first in the live broadcast list only half an hour after the broadcast, with a total of 1.16 million viewers.
6. Jointly Build the Health Community with a Shared Future for Mankind
In Wuyi, Jiangshan, Longyou and Putuo, we started the "Mountain &Sea" upgrading project, keeping in mind the needs of development, the expectations of the grassroots, and the aspirations of the people. The warmth and depth of SRRSH staff's love and support have crossed mountains and seas to the local people.
In countries along the “Belt and Road” such as the Philippines, Vietnam and Malaysia, the professional training courses in the minimally invasive field of SRRSH came online as scheduled, sharing the hospital’s innovative achievements in the minimally invasive field to overseas doctors.
7. Won Various Precious Honors
In 2021, it will be the sixth consecutive year that SRRSH has been listed in the best employers for medical institutions in China, and it continues to rank first in Zhejiang Province, and won the title of "Best Employer for Medical Institutions in 2020, Most Popular Hospital for College Students".
We won the title of "International Hospital" with high scores, and the Nursing Department won the National May 1st Women's Award.
In the selection of typical cases of modern hospital management in China in 2021, SRRSH won the "Typical Case Demonstration Unit" and "Excellent Organization Award".
