On June 30, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH), affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine held the trial operation ceremony of its new campus, Shaoxing Campus. A key construction project in Zhejiang province, a livelihood program with the largest investment over the recent years in Shangyu District, a leading core project of the Future City… Shaoxing Campus attracts avid attention.
A number of leaders from Zhejiang province, Zhejiang University, and Shaoxing participated in the ceremony.
Dr. Ren Shaobo, Party Secretary of Zhejiang University
Dr. Huang Hefeng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dean of Zhejiang University School of Medicine
Mr. Shi Huifang, Deputy Secretary of Shaoxing Municipal Committee of the CPC and Mayor of Shaoxing
Mr. Wang Renyuan, Party Secretary and Head of the Health Commission of Zhejiang Province
Mr. Jin Jinfu, Deputy Secretary of Shangyu District Party Committee and Head of Shangyu District
Dr. Cai Xiujun, President of SRRSH
Mr. Huang Xin, Party Secretary of SRRSH together with hospital department directors presented themselves at Shaoxing Campus
At the ceremony, SRRSH and Wasu Media Network also held a large-scale health science popularization live broadcast featuring renowned doctors, from the Department of General Surgery, Department of Orthopedics Department, Department of Cardiology, etc. The broadcast was available on TV and phone with over 350,000 online and on-site viewers.
Aiming to create a "one-hour medical service circle" that covers Shaoxing, Jiaxing, Ningbo, and Taizhou cities, SRRSH Shaoxing Campus is only 12-minute drive from Shaoxingdong Railway Station. Moreover, the new subway station “Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital” on line 2 of Shaoxing Rail Transit is under construction. It is expected to be completed by 2027.
As a direct branch of SRRSH, Shaoxing Campus replicates the operational model of the main campus in Hangzhou, implementing an integrated management system. During the trial operation phase, the hospital plans to open 400 beds, with outpatient and inpatient services both available.
In its initial phase, the new campus focuses on establishing several specialized centers, including endoscopy, cardiology, oncology, neurology, reproductive medicine, and emergency trauma centers.
The oval lighting roof in the center of the outpatient hall and the comprehensive inpatient building facing south make for substantial sunlight inside the buildings. 9 Towers in Shaoxing Campus are connected by corridors, sheltering patients from rain and wind. Local residents now have access to more convenient, precise, and efficient personalized medical services.
Cutting-edge technologies, such as AI-powered medical assistants, a fully automated "smart pharmacy" dispensing system, and intelligent wristbands for "smart wards", have been transferred. The first-ever dual-utilization of clinical and epidemic wards has also been applied in Tower 6 of Shaoxing Campus.
On the opening day, a team of specialists from various departments of SRRSH conducted a three-day free medical consultation event at the Shaoxing Campus, from June 30 to July 1. The first day saw nearly 3,200 outpatient visits. During the event, the registration fees of expert and general clinics are all waived.
