From August 2 to 4, the 2024 annual meeting of the Robotic Surgery Committee of the Zhejiang Medical Doctors Association was held in Qingchun Campus of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH), affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Bringing together top experts and scholars at home and abroad, the conference provided the latest platform with high standards, combining seminars, surgical demonstrations, robot test drives, robotic and animal surgical training, etc.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Tian Yunpeng, Secretary General of Zhejiang Medical Doctors Association, Dr. Cai Xiujun, Honorary Chairman of the first Robotic Surgery Committee of Zhejiang Medical Doctors Association and President of SRRSH, and Dr. Yu Hong, Chairman of the first Robotic Surgery Committee of Zhejiang Medical Doctors Association and Vice President of SRRSH attended and delivered their speeches.

Experts at home and abroad shared their latest results and groundbreaking work on the seminars.

Dr. David Larson, a colon and rectal surgeon from Mayo Clinic in the United States, gave a report entitled “Diverticulitis what should we do?”.

Dr. Mathew Thomas, a cardiothoracic surgeon from Mayo Clinic, gave a report entitled “Frontiers of Lung Nodule in Lung Cancer(Recent Advances)”.

Dr. Zhao Zhiming, Director of the Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery of Chinese PLA General Hospital, gave a speech entitled "Vascular surgical techniques of robotic hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery".

Dr. Zhang Qian, President of Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical University, gave a report entitled "Advantages and prospect of robotic prostate cancer surgery".

Dr. Wang Hui, President of Women's Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, present a lecture named "Application of robots in fertility-preservation surgery among patients with early-stage cervical cancer".

Dr. Li Zhigang, Director of Thoracic Surgery of Shanghai Chest Hospital, presented a report entitled "Current consensus and future of robot-assisted minimally invasive treatment for esophageal cancer".

Prof. Dong Kuiran, Deputy Secretary of Children’s Hospital of Fudan University, gave a keynote speech entitled "Application of surgical robots in pediatric surgery".

Dr. Wu Haobo, chief physician of Orthopedics of the Second Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, gave a keynote speech named "Robotic surgery and the transformation of clinical thinking".

Dr. Dai Sheng, Director of Medical Affairs of SRRSH, presented a report entitled "Surgical robot training practice and innovation".

Multiple parallel sessions were opened, covering a range of specialties including hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, gastrointestinal and anorectal surgery, urology, gynecology, cardiothoracic surgery, orthopedics, and pediatric surgery.

5 kinds of full-fledged robot products were exhibited at the venue, which enabled participants to operate them personally.

On August 4, a robotic animal surgery training camp was specifically set up, in which the delegates experienced AI-assisted robotic surgery training on living animals.

SRRSH sincerely appreciated the support and participation of all the experts and colleagues and looked forward to a reunion at the next annual meeting of the Robotic Surgery Committee.
