Prof. WU Jinmin, a renowned oncology expert in China, passed away at the age of 86 at 2:20 am on August 30, 2024, in Hangzhou. An outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, he was one of the experts receiving the State Council Special Allowance, Zhengjiang Model Worker, member and standing committee member of the 6^th, 7^th and 8^th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the Vice Chairperson of the 4^th, 5^th and 6^th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy. He was also the former president of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH), affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and the Second Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University School of Medicine. He served as the former member of the standing committee of the China Anti-cancer Association, Vice Chairman of the Breast Cancer Professional Committee of the China Anti-cancer Association, Vice Chairman of the Colorectal Cancer Professional Committee of the China Anti-cancer Association, and Chairman of the Oncology Surgery Branch of the Zhejiang Medical Association.

Following his and his family’s will, the funeral arrangement of President WU Jinmin will be simplified and no memorial service and farewell-bidding ceremony to the deceased will be held.

To commemorate and reminisce about beloved President WU Jinmin, SRRSH has set up a dedicated "Memorial Hall for Professor WU Jinmin" in Room 201, Tower 7, Qingchun Campus from August 31 to September 6.
