Minor Snow
2024/11/22With the 19th of the 24 traditional Chinese solar terms—Minor Snow coming today, a continuous drop in temperature is around the corner in Hangzhou. If the chilly wind comes, can crystal snowflakes be far behind? In the approaching freezing days, SRRSH’s compassionate care may bring you warmth.
Health tips from our Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) physician:
Keep your head warm: The head is a key area where Yang (a type of energy that warms the body, improves circulation, and can create a feeling of excitement in TCM) converges. As temperatures drop, it’s essential to protect your head and neck to preserve this vital energy. So, grab your favorite wool hat and scarf to stay cozy!
Avoid eating cold food: Cold, especially iced food, can weaken your spleen Yang, leading to digestive discomfort according to TCM. During this snowy season, it’s recommended to heat up your meals before eating.
Ear massage: The ear is regarded as a holographic map of the human body in TCM, but it is easily exposed to coldness in this season. Spend a few minutes each day gently massaging your ears until they feel warm. A slight discomfort is normal and may indicate an imbalance in the corresponding organ. Persist with it every day until the discomfort fades—this can be a sign of improving health.
