Dr. Tan has been recognized as one of Zhejiang Province Innovative Talents (2021), Zhejiang Province 151 Talents Level 2 (2018), Zhejiang Medical Rookies (2015), and Zhejiang University School of Medicine Clinical Top-notch Young Talents Category A (2018).

He has published more than 70 papers, including 55 papers collected in SCI as the first or corresponding author, 3 papers in the TOP journals, and 5 papers with an impact factor greater than 10. He is the editor-in-chief of Basic Techniques of Medical Experiments and New Minimally Invasive Treatment for Bromhidrosis. He has obtained 21 authorized national patents (8 national invention patents, and 13 utility model patents, all of which Dr. Tan is the first inventor), won 4 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (as the responsible person), and participated in a national key research and development plan (as the backbone personnel). In the past 4 years, he has won awards every year, including the third prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award (2020), the second prize of China Plastic and Aesthetic Association Science and Technology Progress Award (2019), the third prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award (2018), and the second prize (2017) and the third prize (2016) of Zhejiang Medical and Health Science and Technology Award.

In 1995, Dr. Tan was admitted to Peking University, majoring in clinical medicine (the 8-year program). He graduated from Peking Union Medical College with a doctorate in 2003 under Professor Qi Keming (the former National Director of the Plastic Surgery Department, President of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, and Beijing Plastic Surgery Hospital, famous for liposuction and shaping) and Professor Qiao Qun (former director of the Plastic Surgery Department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, famous for breast plastic and cosmetic expert).
