Biographical Sketch
Fengquan Zhou, Chaired Professor of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Director of Center for Translational Neural Regeneration Research, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital. Dr. Fengquan Zhou is a chaired professor with more than 20 years’ experience in the field of brain science research. Dr. Zhou graduated from Nanjing University with his bachelor and master’s degrees in biochemistry. He earned his PhD degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his postdoctoral training in the Neuroscience Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He started his independent career at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and worked as an assistant, associate and full professor for about 17 years. In late 2022, Dr. Zhou joined Zhejiang University as a chaired professor and the director of the Center for Translational Neural Regeneration Research at the Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital. His current major research directions are cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neural regeneration after brain aging, neural injuries, or various neurological diseases.
