Yao Yufeng, M.D. & Ph.D., Professor, Director and Senior Attending of the Ophthalmology Department. Dr. Yao specializes in corneal disease, cataract surgery and refractive surgery. He established the Department of Ophthalmology in 1998. He is a doctorial supervisor guiding research fellow, graduate students at the Ophthalmology Center. After completing his doctoral education in ophthalmology, Prof. Yao has been providing a wide range of eye care including corneal and ocular surface diseases, corneal transplantation, cataract, glaucoma and refractive surgery. He is a recognized expert worldwide in corneal and ocular surface diseases and has published many scientific papers in these fields. He has invented a new method to perform corneal transplantation that is named “Yao’s DALK” by international peers. He is the first Chinese surgeon who performed the trifocal lens implantation to treat cataract and presbyopia.
