A total of twenty-three people work in our department including physicians, technicians and nurses. Two staff members are senior grade staff, nine are intermediate grade and twelve are junior grade. Our team aims to utilize the most advanced technology, in order to become the most complete profession in China. Our department is equipped with technologically advanced SPECT/CT examination instruments and the most accurate radionuclide diagnosis and therapy environment. Our ward is also advanced and modern, and includes 24 beds in Xiasha Hospital.
Our department attaches equal importance to both basic research and clinical medical treatment. Currently, the levels of clinical expertise, teaching, and scientific research are extensively developed and count as one of the very best in the Zhejiang Province. Our department has the most comprehensive equipment of the hospitals of Zhejiang Province, such as position imaging examination, including 18F-FDG imaging, and SPECT/CT imaging examination, including internal irradiation of radioactive nuclide. It's worth noting that we also perform internal irradiation of radioactive nuclide including, 131I therapy for differentiated thyroid carcinoma and hyperthyroidism, and 89Sr therapy for metastatic tumor of bone. All innovative clinical research projects of our team began in the Zhejiang Province. Some of the projects include gastrointestinal nuclide imaging combined with hydrogen breath test, and diagnosing small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), filling the gaps in domestic technology.
Our team is a key component of the Zhejiang Health Department Technical Center, covering standard diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases and minimally invasive treatment of prostate cancer in our hospital. Our department has the first batch of key subspecialized departments within our hospital, including the thyroid subspecialty of radionuclide diagnosis and treatment. One or two innovative clinical research projects are undertaken annually. Furthermore, our department was approved by the National Committee On Continuing Medical Education, as the national continuing education program, and has good popularity and influence in China.
