Overview
The Department of Dermatology and Venerology of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital was founded in 1994. It offers comprehensive services and programs, including medical services, medical students teaching and residency training, as well as scientific research.
The faculty is comprised of 21 staff members, including 1 professor and doctoral advisor, 4 chief physicians, 5 associate chief physicians, 5 fellow physicians, 6 resident physicians and 1 technician. All of them have a Master’s degree or higher, and among them, 9 physicians have achieved medical doctor’s degrees both at home and abroad.
Our department has a group of experienced dermatologists who are able to provide the most accurate and prompt diagnosis and treatment for patients with various skin diseases and sexually transmitted diseases which include common skin diseases, inflammatory diseases, allergic diseases, autoimmune diseases, skin tumors, etc. In addition, the cosmetic laser center of our department provides a variety of treatments for acne, hemangioma, tattoo, scar, etc.

Achievements of Research:
The department has undertaken over 15 National Natural Science Foundation projects, as well as provincial Natural Science Foundation and sanitation projects. More than one hundred academic papers have been published. We also won the second prize in Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Progress Award, published 100 academic papers and obtained 3 invention patents.
International Exchange and Cooperation:
We have academic cooperation with several internationally renowned colleges and scientific research institutes, such as the Dermatology Hospital of Kiel University, Germany; the Department of Dermatology at Mayo Clinic, the US; the Department of Dermatology at Loma Linda University, the US; South Carolina University, the US, and others.
