Overview

The General Practice department of SRRSH, founded in 1999, is the first GP department in tertiary referral centers in Zhejiang province, integrating medical care, teaching and research. General Practice is a form of medical care that provides continuous, complete health care for patients and their families, not limited by age, gender, disease, and organ system. With a leading level of professional development, our team offer services of general practice outpatient clinics, wards, chronic disease management, and health management.  We aim “to provide personal, comprehensive and continuing care for the individual”.

Our department is a provincial and national standardized residency training base of general practice. In May 2010, we cooperated with the Michigan State University Genesys Regional Medical Center and established the Sino-US general medicine clinical training base. In 2012, it was approved as the "General Practice and Technical Guidance Center of Zhejiang Province", and became the academic degree program unit of general practice of Zhejiang University. In 2015, our department was recognized as a key discipline of Zhejiang province. In 2016 we obtained the “high recognition of an expert group” of Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). In 2019, we were awarded as "the advanced unit of health science popularization and education work (the first batch in China)". And we ranked second in the 2020 Fudan Hospital reputation ranking and comprehensive ranking of general medicine specialties.

1. Comprehensive treatment of common diseases

2. Diagnosis and treatment of symptomatic diseases (fever, edema, weight loss, fatigue, headache, chest pain, abdominal pain, etc.)

The department has undertaken a number of National Natural Science Foundation projects, as well as provincial Natural Science Foundation and sanitation projects. We have published more than one hundred academic papers. Additionally, one of our chief physicians participated in the editing of two sets of Ministry of Health General Practice teaching materials.

[International Exchange and Cooperation]

Our department has a close relationship with Loma Linda University Medical Center, Michigan State University, Genesys Regional Medical Center and the Australian Cabrini Medical Center. There are nearly 100 domestic and overseas scholars participate in the exchange programs of our department each year.
